What is networked? If we search this word in the Internet, there will be a lot of definition on IT network instead of a business networking. According to searchnetworking.techtarget.com, in information technology, a network is a series of points or nodes interconnected by communication paths. As for the business definition by dictionary.com, networked is a supportive system of sharing information and services among individuals and groups having a common interest.
In a business perspective, having connected with a lot of people is a good thing. Whether in business or social network, having a circle of support system that share the same purposed will definitely not make it difficult for anyone to success in the future. This statement can best be seen from Jeffrey "Jeff" Weiner, who is the chief executive officer of LinkedIn, a business-related social networking website. He started with LinkedIn in December 2008 as Interim President.
Jeff Weiner believes that networking can open up to others different opportunity, thus, he creates LinkedIn, which a business-oriented social networking service company that focus on creating networking with people with the same interest. This company has been build to achieve the objective that networking is important in doing business, whether external networking or internal networking.
